Tom has been on a huge journey since first opening Story and the refurbishment needed to communicate that.  It led us to develop the concept of Rough Luxe.  Now we have more luxurious, feminine elements sitting alongside textured timbers and aged copper.   The contrast of materials between the rough and the smooth always felt appropriate for Tom and further articulates his story.  The food and service are such a high standard that we needed some stand out moments in the interior to complete the dining experience.

This led us to exploring ceiling features and then we had the good fortune to discover the beautiful work of Michelle McKinney. Over 400 metal swallows take flight from the kitchen and act as a metaphor for the team’s creative energy and the culinary journey that results for diners.

Patterned wallpaper, leaded glass screens and different marbles add further texture to the space.  Timorous Beasties produced some large Paper Damask panels for us and we were also lucky enough to have the Connor Brothers create some site specific art for Tom.
